What an AI director actually does, in Amos's own words.
An AI director is not a prompt typer. An AI director is a director who understands how to compose a frame, choreograph a body, lead a cast, and now also conducts a machine that can produce frames, choreography, and casts on demand. The work has not changed. The medium has expanded.
The grammar of directing is durable. Patience. Restraint. The held shot. The cast you trust. The cut you do not make. These survive the tool revolution because they predate the tools.
What AI changes is the cost of iteration. A pre-visualization that took six weeks on the Aoki Bud Light shoot in 2018 takes six hours in 2026. A frame test that required a film stock budget now happens before the kettle boils. That speed does not replace the director. It returns the director to the question they were always supposed to be answering: what is this shot for.
