Music Video, Commercial and AI Director in Bucharest
bucharest, romania
Amos Le Blanc is a Canadian director of music videos, commercials and AI-led films, based between Toronto and Los Angeles. He is open to working in Bucharest and across Europe, and would love the opportunity to connect.
Bucharest at a glance
Bucharest is the base for Romania's production industry, with the country's two big studio lots on its doorstep: Buftea, about 35 km out with 19 stages, and Castel Film, about 45 km out with 10 stages and a 65 acre backlot. The national rebate was relaunched in July 2024 under a new Office for Film and Cultural Investments, and by mid 2026 around 70 film and TV projects had been approved or were in the approval process.
music videos in Bucharest
The classical calendar is anchored by the George Enescu International Festival, a biennial event built around the Romanian Athenaeum and the Sala Palatului concert hall. On the club side, Bucharest was the main hotbed of rominimal, the long, loop-driven strain of house and techno whose best known names are the [a:rpia:r] trio of Rhadoo, Petre Inspirescu and Raresh. The pop business is led by Global Records, a Bucharest company started in 2008 whose roster includes INNA and Carla's Dreams and which runs its own video production arm.
commercials in Bucharest
The city has a deep bench of production service companies taking commercials, music videos and stills for foreign clients; one told The Location Guide in 2017 that it was servicing about two Indian projects a month for brands such as Pepsi and OnePlus, helped by traffic light enough to reach up to five locations in a day. In 2022 the city council set a flat fee of 2,500 lei per location per day for shooting inside municipally owned heritage buildings, a measure the deputy mayor said came from the film industry itself and which gives ad and feature crews a predictable way to book those interiors.
locations and light
Inside the city you get the vast parliament building, old central streets, Communist era blocks and abandoned industrial estates, while the studio backlots add standing sets such as a gothic church, US suburbia and a western town. Beyond the city, Romania offers the Carpathians, medieval towns, Black Sea beaches and the Danube Delta.
working in Bucharest
Most locations can be permitted in about 48 hours, though street closures in Bucharest take a few days longer, and the city council charges a municipal fee for professional filming in public areas. OFIC, the national film office under the Ministry of Culture, advises on filming authorisations and runs filmoffice.ro, a searchable database of locations, crew and companies.
Film office: Office for Film and Cultural Investments (OFIC).
Romania's 30% cash rebate, run by OFIC with a cap of 10 million euros per project and now extended so agreements can be signed through 2029, covers features, series, documentaries and animation, and it explicitly excludes commercials.

Flights land at Bucharest's main international airport (OTP), and Air Canada lists new seasonal nonstop flights from Toronto.
